Pentecost River crossing and El Questro

We were dreading this river crossing as the Pentacost is a big river, but it turned out OK in the end.

The first photo is the view from the tent over the Pentacost at El Questro.

Home valley station and Bindoola Gorge

This Station is where the film "Australia" was made, I can see why the scenery was breathtaking. The station itself is quite a tourist attraction, not quite to my taste but the Gibb River Road has something for everyone.

Hann River and Ellenbrae campsite

This was our deepest crossing yet only a few squeaks.

This campsite was so very quite and the station did the best scones jam and cream, good thing we only spent a couple of days.

1. Water level on the side of the car
2. Scones
3. Water heater for showers
4. Toilet
5. Water level on the trailer

Manning Gorge

I loved this one. We met some lovely people and walked with them. Brenda was 75.5 and Bill was 78. If they could do it so could I.

The last photo is how we started the walk, you have to put your boots and clothes in a polystyrene box, swim the river and push the box in front of you, great fun.

1 & 2 Trev and I in the pool
3. Monitor thinking about going in the pool
4. Follow my leader to the falls

Adcocks Gorge and Galvans Gorge

My first swim in a gorge pool, not sure I will be repeating the experience, very very cold.

1. Galvans
2. Adcock
3. Galvans
4. Adcock

Week 29 - Gibb River Road- Silent Grove

I was expecting poor campsites along the Gibb River Road so was pleasantly surprised to find toilets and showers in all of them.

Lots of Gorges, some to swim in some too cold, all of them have wonderful walks.

1. Queen Victoria Rock
2. Bell Gorge
3. Water crossing
4. Bob tree, Kimberly answer to the Whomping Willow.
5. Bell Gorge

Horizontal Falls

My trip of a lifetime. A seaplane trip, an overnight stop in Talbot Bay and a jet boat ride over the most amazing water. Brilliant.
