Big Salmon fishing beach and spectacular coastal scenery.
We were allowed to have a fire in this camp site, unusual as there is a total fire ban on other sites.
Walked around the point to take in the views.

Week 16. Pemberton
Not in the bush this time, nice hot showers and laundry, 5 days bush makes for very mucky people.
Tall tree drive to the Gloucester tree which Trevor climbed and survived. I watched from below and took photo's.

Alexandra Bridge
Lovely little campsite on the banks of the Blackwood River, very nice peddle out on the water.
The bridge is still repaired with wood except where people bang into it, then it is steel posts.
While we were on the water a house boat made several attempts to get under the bridge and hit it every time, gave up in the end and went back upstream. I can see the point of the steel posts.

Cape Leeuwin
This is as far south in WA that we go. Also visited the Water Wheel which has calcified over the years. Built to bring water to the lighthouse builders then the keepers.
On the way back to Boranup we stopped off in Hamlin Bay to see the Sting Rays.

Lake Cave
Down into a Doline Cave, one that the roof has collapsed. Very near the campsite which we had just left and on the way to the Boranup Karri Forest Drive.

Conto beach
Great campsite in the Peppermint trees.
Visited Ellensbrook House built in 1837 by a chap named Bussel, it had a close shave with a bush fire earlier in the year. It was closed but nice to walk around the grounds.
Prevelly beach outside Margaret River had a surf event going on so lots of surfers to watch. They must have had a good time the surf was huge.

Penguin Island
We are off again, the trials and tribulations of Perth are done and dusted.
First stop Penquin Island in Rockingham, the Little Penquins were out and about so missed them but did see the Pelican Colony and the sea lions. We were in the kayaks and 50m off the beach when I took photo's of the sea lions, really glad they were sleepy, if one of them had slipped into the water I would have been kayaking for the Olympics.

Busselton Jetty
A day by the seaside and a visit to the Jetty Observatory.
Lovely hot day and I thought maybe a swim after the Observatory, but when we came out the sea breeze was in full swing, maybe another day.
The observatory although quite small did allow us to watch the fish in their natural environment and the colors of the sponges was spectacular. Well worth the visit and the little train was great.

Another spelling mistake.
It is Tenterden not Tenterten. One is in WA the other in Kent. Sorry if you thought we had made it back to the UK.

Tenterten
Stayed for the Labour Weekend in Tenterten, near the Stirling Ranges with my brother Adrian, Alice and complete peace.
Someone else did the cooking, bliss. A DVD library to kill for, more bliss, and a little drive through the Stirling Range, something to come back to I think. Bit hot to climb but would love to climb Blff Knoll another day.
